Delsin pants heavily. He looks at his hands with a frown that borders on scared. "I lost two of my powers," he says softly. "Maybe . . . maybe three of them." Everything he's done has been for nothing. Everything he's fought for. And everyone in the tribe — Betty — is going to die because of it. Reggie died for nothing.
He can feel his heart starting to pound, panic rising. With it, an orange glow starts up on his hands and smoke begins to swirl around his arms.
